As a leading dental practice located in Gainesville, Virginia, Dr. Tontra Lowe provides outstanding dental care to residents of Haymarket, Gainesville, and surrounding areas. After graduating with honors from Alabama A&M University, she was commissioned as a 2nd Lieutenant in the active Army, where her path to dentistry began. She proudly served and retired from the District of Columbia Army National Guard.
Dr. Lowe received her Doctor of Dental Surgery (D.D.S.) degree from Howard University College of Dentistry in 2005. After graduation, she completed a general practice residency at East Carolina University Brody School of Medicine. She understands that fear of the dentist is real and has taken many additional hours of study in sedation dentistry to provide the most
incredible, serene, an d comfortable environment possible. Smile makeovers, implants to replace missing teeth, comfortable dentures that do not move, and teeth whitening are all available options that Dr. Lowe offers patients to enhance their smile. Dr. Lowe is practicing orthodontics as a general dentist.
Dr. Lowe’s motto, “Change your smile…change your life!” is a testament to her dedication to her patients. She wants everyone to smile confidently and without shame and offers treatment to maintain awesome smiles for a lifetime. Dr. Lowe is highly active in the community. She is a non-profit board member and is a very active volunteer at the Fauquier County Free Dental Clinic in Warrenton, VA. Additionally, she has given many dental presentations to school-age children promoting good oral care and having fun with our mascot, Marty the Molar.
Dr. Lowe has been named one of America’s Top Dentists by the Consumers Research Council of America since 2011. Also, Dr. Lowe’s office was named Best New Office of Haymarket and Gainesville in 2014 and has been named to the Best of Haymarket list of honorees for Best Dental Office in 2014 and 2015. In 2016, 2017, 2018, 2019, 2020, 2021, and 2022, Awesome Smiles Dental Center was VOTED the BEST DENTAL OFFICE in Haymarket and Gainesville, VA, by Readers’ Choice. She and her husband, Jay, have two boys — Dr. Malik Lowe is a Virginia Commonwealth University (V.C.U.) School of Dentistry graduate, and Malcolm attends the University of Alabama (U.A.) School of Law. In her spare time, Dr. Tontra Low likes to travel and entertain.
